Use the official browser store flow whenever a store listing is configured. Browser security requires the final install confirmation to happen on Chrome Web Store, Microsoft Edge Add-ons, or Firefox Add-ons; ZIP packages remain available as a fallback.

Save first, analyze in the background

When you find a useful page, ReFind saves the title, URL, and your save reason first. AI analysis runs in the background and uses that reason to improve summaries, tags, and categories.

Time View Today / Yesterday / This Week Newest saves appear first, and imported bookmarks keep their original saved time.
One Place Bookmarks in one list Import old bookmarks, then browse and search them from one side panel.

Editable summaries, tags, categories, and reasons

When analysis finishes, each bookmark card shows the full summary, tags, content category, and save reason. You can edit them later so every saved page matches your workflow.

Import existing browser bookmarks Read the browser bookmark tree, filter invalid links, deduplicate URLs, keep original saved time, and track import progress.

Import old bookmarks and rebuild context

Start with what you already have. Imported bookmarks are analyzed in the background and gradually enriched with summaries, tags, categories, and searchable context.

Install Guide

Install in three steps

1

Download ZIP

Choose the package for Chrome, Edge, or Firefox.

2

Unzip Package

Extract it to a stable local directory and keep it there.

3

Load Extension

Open the extension manager, enable developer mode, and load the extracted directory.

Local Data & Privacy

Your browser-side settings stay local and under your control

ReFind stores extension settings, account convenience fields, reminder interval, manual frequent-site choices, hidden-site choices, and first-import state in browser local storage. Page data is processed only after you save a page, enter a save reason, import bookmarks, or submit feedback.

Security Safeguards

Designed around explicit user action

ReFind does not continuously read browsing history. It reads the current page when you save, reads browser bookmarks when you import or sync, and sends only the data needed for account sync, AI summaries, tags, categories, save reasons, and feedback.

1

Local settings first

API endpoint, account email, reminder interval, manual top sites, hidden sites, and import state are kept in browser local storage.

2

Permission-based bookmark access

Bookmark import runs only after browser permission and user action. Invalid URLs are filtered, duplicate URLs are skipped, and original saved time is preserved.

3

Controlled cloud processing

Saved pages and imported bookmarks are sent to the configured ReFind service only to provide sync, search, AI summaries, tags, categories, and feedback handling.
