Privacy Policy
ReFind is designed around user-initiated saving. The extension does not continuously read your browsing history in the background and does not collect webpage content unless you choose to save, import, sync, or configure data.
Information We Process
- Current page URL and title — read when you click save, use the context menu, or trigger a save shortcut.
- Page content and generated summaries — processed by the configured ReFind API service when a page is saved, so summaries, tags, categories, and save reasons can be generated.
- Browser bookmarks — read only when you actively use bookmark import or cross-browser bookmark sync features.
- Extension settings — API endpoint, user identifier, reminder interval, theme, and related preferences.
- Saved collection data — title, URL, summary, tags, notes, content category, site category, save reason, and creation time.
- Account and service data — email login status, feedback, and basic service diagnostics needed to operate the product.
How We Use Information
- Save and organize webpages that you choose to collect.
- Generate summaries, tags, categories, and save reasons.
- Provide search, category browsing, top sites, reminders, import, sync, account, and feedback features.
- Connect the extension to the API service configured by the user or by the released product.
- Maintain security, prevent abuse, troubleshoot issues, and improve product reliability.
Storage and Retention
The extension stores only necessary settings locally in the browser. Saved collection content and account-related service data are stored by the configured ReFind API service. Data is retained while your account or configured service needs it to provide the product features, unless you delete it or request deletion where available.
Sharing and Third-Party Services
ReFind does not sell personal data. If the backend service enables third-party AI, hosting, analytics, email, or infrastructure providers, relevant data may be processed by those providers only to deliver the requested product functionality and service operations.
User Controls
- You can edit the API endpoint in settings where the product build allows it.
- You can delete saved collections and remove local extension settings.
- You can disable or adjust reminder intervals.
- You can stop using the extension by uninstalling it from your browser.
Children's Privacy
ReFind is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy when product features, legal requirements, or service providers change. The updated date on this page indicates the latest version.
